Saumur Blanc – Secret d’Armand Blanc
DOMAINE ARMAND DAVID
Description
A beautiful and powerful Chenin Blanc aged 24 months in new barrel !
A great wine of pleasure! The White Secret comes in a pale yellow color, accompanied by pretty green reflections that demonstrate all its power and freshness. This wine with a charming nose, due to its light notes of fresh citrus fruits reminiscent of grapefruit zest and apples scents cooked with acacia honey, announces a great complexity. After a few minutes, the wine takes a volume in the glass announcing notes of coconut, fresh vanilla coming from contact with the wood. This wine gains in richness over the minutes after opening, while keeping its righteousness due to this precise and sharp acidity. The palate is round, stretched by acidity. The fruit is intense, with lovely hints of white fruit such as ripe apple and pear. We find in the mouth a Chenin perfectly controlled on its maturity and its concentration, with a very nice freshness due to its acidity. The wood comes to blend perfectly with touches of roundness, mainly on lactic notes reminiscent of yogurt with apple. The finish is on the freshness thanks to this very sharp acidity. A very beautiful chenin which will round out even more with the time, but which can already be appreciated. I anticipate that this wine will be a nice wine of guard.
