A benchmark cuvée highlighting the characteristic Muscadet Sèvre & Maine terroir. Clos de la Houssaie is a 70-acre parcel of vines in the commune of La Haye Fouassière, partly surrounded by a stone wall that provides an ideal microclimate for ripening grapes. In 1926, the Clos de la Haye Fouassière became the benchmark for the "Grand Cru de Sèvre & Maine" appellation. Since the 2009 vintage, it has been recognized as a "Cru Communal la Haye Fouassière". Appellation : Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Location: 70-are parcel in the commune of La Haye Fouassière. Terroir : Metamorphic rock of the La Ramée fault. Succession of serpentinites and orthogneiss. Grape variety: 100% Melon B or Muscadet Yield: 45 hl/ha Vinification: Slow pressing, settling, temperature control Aging: Exclusively on fine lees for 24 months Bottling: By us, in our cellars, 24 months after the harvest Marketing: After a minimum of 3 years bottle ageing Serve at 12° (not iced)
