Château de Chaintres, a historic Saumur producer, is based on a monastic terroir dating back to the 17th century (1635). Today, the estate produces Saumur Champigny, Saumur white, rosé and crémant wines from a historic 20ha vineyard, which is itself made up of several terroirs. One of the founders of the Saumur Champigny appellation, the estate was a forerunner in organic production (2011), which is now entirely Biodynamic.
