In 1967, Maurice Filliatreau transfers his vineyard of 8 hectares in Chaintres to his son, Paul, who was only 24 years old. Through sheer will and conviction, Paul increasingly produced fine wines, light reds with red fruit aromas that became the signature wine of Saumur Champigny, and in particular of the Filliatreau Domain. He brought the entire Saumur Champigny brand with him and participated in the creation of the producers’ collective. Paul travelled throughout France as an ambassador for the Domain and the appellation, and Saumur-Champigny prominently ended up on Parisian restaurant menus.

Domaine Filliatreau is committed to sustainable winemaking. Château Fouquet is certified Organic by ecocert since 1998 and Biodynamic by Demeter France since 2017. Domaine Filliatreau is certified Organic since 2020 and will be certified by Demeter France in 2022. We are proud of the hard work accomplished, of our team's commitment.
