ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

The Château de la Calonnière is located in the heart of Anjou and runs around twenty hectares in a terroir of shale and sandstone.

The Château de la Calonnière is located in the heart of Anjou and runs around twenty hectares. The magic formula that allows the estate to get
the best from its grapes and produce a high range of wines lies in these
three essential components: a terroir of shale and sandstone, the Layon
River bordering the vines and the famous Angevine sweetness.
At a time when the planet needs attention, every little bit counts. Aiming for a more respectful world is part of
our philosophy. Our viticulture is respectful of the soil and nature. We have sown flowering fallow in order to
bring back biodiversity within the plots and life in the soil. We have also stopped chemical weeding and only
use natural products for disease protection. Our vinification is centered around minimal interventions on the
wine and a respect for traditions. Manual harvesting, slow pressing and the limitation of sulphites allow us to
have wines of quality and character.
