The Giffard distillery was founded in 1885 by Émile Giffard, a pharmacist in Angers. He researched various beverages and developed a mint-based liqueur with refreshing and digitalising properties: Menthe Pastille
In 1885, following the success of his research, Émile Giffard converted his pharmacy into a distillery and named his liqueur menthe-pastille.
5 generations later, the company has remained 100% family-owned, and today employs more than 80 people.

Used in the best cocktail bars in the world, Giffard develops all its products for bartenders.
